Jan 6, 2022 #5509248LinkedIn Connection RatesAdam ShiltonParticipantJan 6, 2022
Hey Everyone,
I now have a pretty slick LinkedIn profile, some decent content, but I’m struggling to make connections.
I have a feeling it’s because my connection messages aren’t generating enough interest.
Finance teams are my main focus, and, in general, they don’t tend to post much on LinkedIn so it’s hard to find mutual topics of conversation.
Does anyone have any words of wisdom and any example connection messages for people that are on active on LinkedIn, but not posting?
Adam

Your LinkedIn profile is looking great.
What is your success rate on connecting with prospects? And what message are you sending if your connection request?

So it was 2 to 3 in 10 with the below sort of message:
“Hey {{First_Name}}, hope you’re first few months in the new role’s off to a good start.
I see you and I work in a similar spaces, so would love to join your network.
Thanks
Adam
P.S – Enter relent comments on post/like etc”
In the last couple of days (after re-reviewing your LinkedIn course Will) it’s since increased to 4-5 in 10 based on these sorts of messages:
“Hi {{First_Name}}, came across your profile and saw you’ve experience in {{relevant experience}}. Would love to connect and keep up to date with your work at {{company}} – Adam”

Remember, you’re connecting to strangers on a “professional” social network.
Have you experimented with no message at all?
It might be work doing 20-30 of those to get a base line number just in case the actual message isn’t the issue. i.e. you get similar results with/without message.
In that case it could just be that lots of your prospects just don’t sign into LinkedIn very often.
