Apr 17, 2023 #9011205Doing the intros in a big meetingMichael StoneParticipantApr 17, 2023
I have my first multi exec meeting coming up on Wednesday. Both our side and theirs.
I’ve made it clear that I’m “chairing” the meeting so to speak and everyone is happy with that.
This sounds dumb, but how do I go about making all the introductions? Do we sit everyone around a table and get them to introduce themselves?
I’m nervous about getting past that initial hump of nobody knowing who the power is in the room. After that I’m sure I’ll smash it.

I would push out the agenda out a day in advance, so folk can see there will be a quick 5m of introductions, stating who they are and what their role is. Also have the agenda printed out for when they take a seat.
Smile and keep your head up, show confidence.
I would recommend you practise 5 or 6 times, get a couple of folk together and do a test run, or get the old teddies out and practise on them, may be not.
Your intro needs to be spot on, and you must go first and then go around the table clockwise or anti-clockwise rather than a random selection.
Also greet the folk as they come in.
The more relaxed the better.
Best of luck, I hope you smash it.

Agenda ahead of time and include a breakdown of people who will be attending the meeting with their job titles (also subtle social pressure for them to all turn up).
Start with a strong question.
