    Cold Calling Script

Hey Will, hope you’re killing it mate!

Can I please get some feedback on my cold calling script? There are some kinks I want to work out.

1.)Me: Intro; hi name, who’s in charge of your growth strategy for Amek corp?

    Prospect: that would be me.

2.) Me: This is where I’m stuck. Should I ask:

a.) how are you managing your customer relationships?

or is this too bland and I should ask:

b.) what technology are you using to (Reduce risks, increase compliance, or increase revenue or reduce costs, according to which benefit is most relevant to them. Instead of just CRM, I’m aiming to address their fundamental business needs.)

-It’s more open ended, which might force me to follow up with: “How are you managing your customer relationships?’’ Eventually.

what do you think, option a or b? Would appreciate your honest and direct feedback.

    Thanks Will!

    You know it :).

a.) how are you managing your customer relationships?

I’m not sure managing customer relationships is closely linked with growth strategy. It sounds a little jarring.

I think it would run better with something like this –

“Hi NAME, who is in charge of customer retention for SPECIFIC PRODUCT?”

“How are your numbers looking? Room for improvement?”

“What tech do you use to help with this?”

im trying to get at their most pressing and urgent business needs, and positioning my solutions as a potential bridge to help them get there. am I over complicating it?

I think basically asking “what is your most pressing business need” is a bit much for a cold call.

Remember, you literally just interrupted them and so they’re probably not in the right mindset to answer that.

All you’re trying to do is book a meeting. You want the lowest friction question that does that job.

On the diagnosis call you can go deeeeeeeeeeep and there’s value to doing that there.

makes sense, thanks will. Also as you know I’m looking to transition into having my own small business in 3 years doing Sales Training for tech companies.

Should I build my business/personal brand around “Tech Sales Training”, or should I go more niche into “SaaS Sales Training” specifically? They say the riches are in the niches, but I dont know if  “SaaS Sales Training” is too marketable for a mixture of B2B and B2C.

any thoughts mate? My endless gratitude 🙏

Lets discuss this on a group coaching call so we can get deeper into it.

If I was to start over, I’d have dominated the smallest niche possible. Something like – Meeting booking with surgeons for medical device salespeople.

Being a specialist in one specific part of the sales process means that you’ll become known much quicker and it doesn’t stop you offering additional training across the entirety of the process.

I’ll jump on call to discuss this. Curious, as an example, would “CRM Sales Training” be a good example of what you are saying? Is this a good niche? Since that’s my background
