    Hey there!

this is my first post on this community.

I got a call for a position as an account manager for B2B, the problem is that the position requires at least 6 months of experience in B2B. I only did B2C in my career.

Any advice in how to prepare for the interview? I want to show that I can close this experience gap, with self studying and self motivation.

    Thanks for the time.

If they’re taking the time to interview you then they don’t really care about the experience gap.

Sales managers only care about two things –

    • Can you sell
    • Will you be a pain in the ass

The goal then is to demonstrate that you can sell in your interview whilst coming across as someone that they’d want to work with.

That means coming to the interview with the following things –

    • 30, 60, 90 day plan.
    • If you’re doing outbound I’d encourage you to build up a rough framework of your cold outreach/cadence plan.
    • SWOT analysis of the company and their position in the marketplace.

For most entry(ish) level roles, you’ll blow the interviews away if you come in prepared like this.

    Hope that helps.
